More about our agenda:
Day 1: Where else would we start but with the Management Trinity?
One on Ones - The basics, and taking them to the next level.
Feedback - An overview, your questions, and — practice, practice, practice!
Day 1 Evening: We’re hosting you for dinner. We’ll talk about management and leadership, have plenty of time for Questions and Answers, and get to know each other better. You’ll leave this conference with 100 managers added to your personal network, ready to call in an instant.

Day 2: We’ll start by practicing the new Effective Coaching Model - you’ll love it. Also:
Rolling out the Trinity: Now that you know what to do, how do you roll it out to your organization. We’ll cover the roll-out in detail!
Effective Performance Management: How an Effective Manger connects day to day to annual goals. Like everything else we do, it’s simple and powerful.
Both Days:
Practice: You will practice feedback and coaching and other skills repeatedly. Individual Attention: When you practice, one of our coaching staff will be watching and providing feedback.
Open Q&A: At our meals, and at the end of both days, we’ll throw it open to questions. Come ready to have your questions answered . . . all of them!
We promise, when you’re done — you’ll be spent! And somehow, still energized to go back to work even more excited about managing and leading — and living.
“This was the best management course I have ever taken!”

When will you guys be holding one of these conferences in the New England area? Boston and Portland, ME are lovely places to visit in the winter.

Drisko,
Mark and MIke are planning a conference in May 2009 in the Washington DC/northern VA area and in Nov 2009 — the Newark NJ/NY vicinity. We would be honored to host you at either venue. Please refer to the Manager Tools Home page and check out the Blog on Aug 25th for the 2009 tentative schedule. We receive so many requests — believe me, careful thought has gone into our consideration such that we can support and serve as many listeners as possible! Best, Maggie — MT Operations

After Global Warming.
Just kidding. We’re not scheduled to do so in 09, but it will be on our list to consider in ‘10. We try to consider places we haven’t been versus concentrations of users and members, as well as requests…that’s how we’ve done it for the first three years’ worth….

The Atlanta M-T Meet-Up Group invites all local, traveling, and conference attending M-T fans to “The Manchester Arms” pub Monday evening, November 10th. We thought it would be great to take advantage of the November Atlanta Conference to expand our meet-up event with ‘effective management minded’ individuals from all over.
When: Monday, November 10th 6:30pm
Where: The Manchester Arms (Just 1.4 miles from the Airport Renaissance)
http://www.themanchesterarms.com
The ATL Meet-up style is very informal. We don’t have an agenda, so come and go as you please, have a bite to eat, share what you will, and enjoy the company. Please respond to this thread if you plan to attend, and feel free to invite others who are interested in effective management, business, careers, economics, culture, technology… and anything else that works into the conversation!
If you’ll be in the Atlanta area, we certainly hope you’ll join us!

Mike and I had kinda hoped to see y’all at the conference hotel. Gonna be hard for us to leave the Renaissance due to prep work.

Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Co – Sales Desk to lead http://wiki/CreditStories/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=783
Discussion focus: Should we request a system change so that Memo accurately quotes delivery for freight shipments?

mis-post^
UPDATE
In the interest of maximizing attendees, the meet-up will take place at the
Concorde Bar/Grill AT the Renaissance hotel where the conference is being held (and no longer at the Manchester Arms pub).
Looking forward to seeing Mike and Mark!

Mark & Mike,
What prep work should be done in advance of the Atlanta Conference?
Any MT content that’s a must know in advance?
Very interested to maximize benefit from our time together.

Steve-
Wow great question sir.
1. Review the Basics casts.
2. Review our review of them from earlier this year.
3. Take note of the logistics cast, which gives you travel and logistics and the conference agenda and topics (which are, of course, the basics).
Comment of the day!

I suspect Chicago is closest…it’s a 2 hour flight though.

Mike, Mark and alexdifiore ::
I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I’m Mike McLeod. From Atlanta. Project Manager. Work with Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta. Help lead their digital media effort over in Turner Sports (NASCAR.com, PGA.com, PGATOUR.com, NBA.com). More info at http://mike-mcleod.com/ if that interests you.
Here’s a photo of me :: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike-mcleod/3011137781/
Now you know someone at the conference you can say “HI” to and ask some kind of question of without having to stumble and bumble.
And alexdifiore :: If I show up Monday evening, be sure say “Mike?” if you see me. I’ll the one standing off to the side with my arms crossed.
