Looking for new job while keeping my current one

I would like to look around and see what opportunities are out there without jeopardizing my current job. I have not done this before; so if anyone has tips on how to do this I would appreciate it.

Currently I am in good standing with my current job; I have earned several awards for contributing to the team and working under pressure. My current job is not in jeopardy, just want to see if there is something else out there.

...you can.  You may not be able to steal second base while still standing on first, but you can get a helluva lead.
1. Get your resume squared away.  (There's a cast on that).
2.  Build your network.  (There's a cast on that).  Slower, but you gotta start sometime.
3. Get on LinkedIn. (There's a cast on that).
4.  Create a development plan.  (There's a cast on that).
5.  Manage your priorities.  (There's a cast on that, where we recommend weekly lunches with external folks to stay in touch.)
6. Consider recruiters.  (There's a cast on that).  There is care to be taken here, which we talk about...depends on your role.
That ought to keep you busy for a year...
